In the waiting room I read an interview with Kim Kardashian's plastic surgeon in a magazine last week. On the full body photo, the prices were attached to the different parts of the body, indicating how expensive the "optimization" was. No exact prices, of course, but "from ... to ...". In total, she had to pay well over € 50,000. The surgeon emphasized that some treatments have to be repeated every three months and that he is of course also called at short notice for special occasions.
I find it particularly bad that thousands of young women follow such an "ideal" and spend their savings on getting close to perfect symmetry (and are certainly even more desperate than before in the case of unsuccessful operations).
How unhappy do you have to be and feel uncomfortable (or hate?) in your body in order to undergo such procedures on a regular basis?
Each person is unique and should respect himself and others in his or her uniqueness!
The film "Embrace - You are beautiful" by Taryn Brumfitt shows for example in a very impressive way how quickly the outside can be destroyed by accidents or illnesses and how much women in particular ruin their psyche by completely unrealistic desires, concentrate on the outside and still remain internally unfulfilled and sad.
In my opinion, this film should be part of standard lessons from the 5th grade and should be repeated every year so that the younger generation internalize the absurdity of such "dreams" and understand the fascination of diversity.
And when the outside is no longer so important, you also have more time to take care of the "inner values" or things that fill you and make you really happy!

Yesterday I rode a bumpy road on my bike. There were many tree roots, which broke through slabs and asphalt.
But somehow I still like this route, because it represents a piece of "liveliness".
Some roots are very big, some still small, some are grown together or partly underground. They all remind me to the buddhistic term "Itaidoshin". It means "physically different - united in spirit" or "different humans - same intention".
I love this expression for all the different people, who work for peace and humanity all over the world. It means to me connectedness in a larger dimension and a kind of happiness, because I know, that I'm not alone with these thoughts and dreams.
article from 05.11.2020:
The Buddhism knows two kinds of happiness; superficial and deep happiness. Superficial happiness means for example to have a job, enough to eat, enough money or being healthy. The deep happiness however is independend from such circumstances and can be found in the inside.
Before I got to know Buddhism I lived in worry, if something bad would happen to my family, if my child gets ill or if I could die of an illness, before my child is old enough, to live its life on its own. The last thing was my biggest worry and fortunately it didn´t happen. Because of this way of thinking my life was accompanied by anxiety and worry.
Through orientation to the present I recognized, that the present is the only period I can influence AT THE MOMENT. The past can not be changed any longer, the future isn´t still there!
In the book "The wisdom of creation of happiness and peace" (from Daisaku Ikede) - part 1 - page 152 it is written: "To do something, to create or contribute something, which has a benefit for others, the community or ourselves, and to dedicate us to this challenges, corresponds to a life with value, a bit of highest humanity". And in part 2 of the serial on page 274 is written: "By standig still you won´t find out, what´s your task. It´s important that you challenge yourself on any time, no matter which theme. While engaging constantly, the direction, you have to go, will arise. Because of that it is important to have the courage to ask yourself, what you should do in THIS MOMENT. The secret ist to climb the mountain which is right away in front of you. To climb the hill will strengthen your musculative and gives you more fitness and endurance. Such a training will enable you to climb higher mountains".
Because it is very individual, how much power someone has or in which circumstance he lives, so nobody has to compare with other people. The book "Daily encouragement" from Daisaku Ikeda describes this fact under the date 3rd November: "You stay you, no matter where you go. So it´s useless to envy other people. All people have strengthen and weeknesses. All you have to do is to look at yourself, to discover your good sides and to develop them. That will create something valuable".
These are thoughts which helped me to live in the present and do my best in this moment. So I get the confidence, that I will find a solution at the right time if I get a problem. THERE WILL BE A SOLUTION! To me this feeling means deep happiness.
And there is another buddhistic saying: BE THE SUN YOU WANT TO SEE! If I´m convinced, that deep inside me there´s a power which will let me deal with my life, than I have a sun, which makes me really happy.
From my heart I wish everybody such a sun!
